Volleyball Assist User Guide: Tournament Builder

Step 2: Teams

In this step, you will add and manage the teams participating in the tournament. You can also provide additional details such as descriptions, seeds, and pool assignments (if applicable). The tournament must have between 4 and 32 teams.

Adding Teams

1. Add Team Button

   • Click the “Add Team” button to open the team creation form.
   • You can add up to 32 teams.

2. Team Details

   • Name: Enter the team’s name (required).
   • Description: Add optional details about the team (e.g., location, coach).
   • Seed: Assign a seed number to influence scheduling (optional).
   • Pool: If the tournament type is Pool Play, assign the team to a pool (required).
   • Color: Assign a color to visually distinguish the team (optional).

3. Save Team

   • Once all details are entered, save the team to add it to the list.

Editing Teams

1. Edit Team

   • Click the settings icon next to a team’s name to edit its details.
   • Update the team’s name, description, seed, pool, or color as needed.

2. Save Changes

   • Confirm your changes to update the team’s information.

Deleting Teams

1. Remove Team
   • Click the trash icon next to a team’s name to delete it from the tournament.
   • Ensure you have at least 4 teams remaining after deletion.

Additional Features

• Drag-and-Drop or Paste Teams

  • You can import teams by dragging and dropping a .txt file or pasting a list of team names.
  • Format: Team Name, Description, Seed, Pool (one team per line).

• Team List

  • Teams are displayed in a list, sorted by seed (if provided).
  • For Pool Play tournaments, teams are grouped by their assigned pool.

Notes

• Ensure you have between 4 and 32 teams before proceeding to the next step.
• For Pool Play tournaments, assigning teams to pools is required.
• Teams without a seed will be scheduled randomly.
